The Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Jacqueline Fanía, highlighted the recent meeting at the Miraflores Palace between the President (E) of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, and representatives of the transport sector. This meeting consolidated the strategic roadmap to optimize service throughout the country during this year and overcome the challenges imposed by the economic blockade.

During an interview broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Fanía stated that the meeting addressed the importance of strengthening the National Urban Transport Fund (Fontur), in order to provide funding to carriers.

“We are coordinating credit lines for the renovation of the vehicle fleet and ensuring the provision of 'ABC' (oils, batteries and rubbers). Our efforts are focused on this constant use, because those who ride public transport are working people who go in search of health, to study and to work,” he said.

The holder of the portfolio specified that structural solutions are already showing concrete results in the national territory. In addition, he stated that this union is the catalyst for the new production model.

“Transportation is the catapult of the entire economic system that President Delcy Rodríguez has been promoting with a new energy. Everything moves through the transport sector, whether land, surface or water; they are the engine of an economy that today is galloping by leaps and bounds,” he said.

To conclude, he contrasting the Executive's desire for dialogue in the face of the destabilizing agendas of the opposition sectors. “That's the big difference between the right and us: while the right calls on the street to close and burn, we call on Miraflores to sit down and talk and work for the people.”
