The Ministry of Education inaugurated this Monday the Science Fair, which will run until March 27, said the Deputy Minister of Secondary Education, Eloy Sira.
“The event represents a fundamental opportunity for students of all levels of education to share their learning and scientific experiences with peers and the community,” said the Deputy Minister.
He also explained that the central theme of this year's edition is climate change, addressed through didactic sequences. These sequences are “progressive and articulated organizations of teaching activities designed by the teacher, which integrate contextualization, exploration, construction and application of knowledge, encouraging active inquiry and critical reflection”.
The fair, according to a press release from the Ministry of Education, will be held throughout the country, covering the Initial, Primary, General Middle and Technical Medium levels, both in public and private and subsidized educational institutions.
“We believe this is an extraordinary opportunity to motivate our students, of different ages and cognitive levels, to approach knowledge in an enjoyable, fun, creative and collective way. It's a way of giving natural sciences the space they should occupy in the imaginary of our students,” he said.
Eloy Sira also reported that this fair serves as a prelude to the Second Youth Science Olympiad, whose registration process is now open for all high schools in the country.
