The Venezuelan table tennis team won gold and bronze medals in the South American Under-11 and Under-13 Championships, which will be held in Asunción, Paraguay from March 14 to 20.

In the men's under-11 team category, the duo made up of Tommy Golding and Gabriel Angarita advanced directly to the quarterfinals by bye and began their participation with a 3-1 victory against Argentina.

Later, in the semifinals, they once again demonstrated their great level by beating Brazil 3-1, ensuring their way to the final of the championship.

The Venezuelan duo authoritatively dominated the Brazilian team in the 3-0 final to win the tournament's gold medal, according to the press release of the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports.

For their part, in the women's under-13 team category, the Venezuelan Sofía Pérez and Loriadni Pineda also advanced by bye to the quarterfinals, where they won an important 3-1 victory against Ecuador.

However, in the semifinal round they faced the representation of Brazil, in a very close duel that was defined 3-2 in favor of the Amazonian women, a result that left the Venezuelan women with the bronze medal of the contest.
