The regional director of UNESCO, Anne Lamaistre, reported that the University City of Caracas, a world cultural heritage, suffered occasional damage after the earthquakes recorded on June 24, without compromising the integrity of the architectural complex.
According to a regional press review, the work of master Carlos Raúl Villanueva was evaluated to determine the effects. The permanent delegate ambassador of Venezuela to UNESCO, Ernesto Villegas, who accompanied the tour, highlighted the climate of union between university authorities, the national government and experts to ensure the preservation of heritage.
