The United States Congressional Research Service published a new report in which it recognized that the sanctions against Venezuela helped to generate an unprecedented economic crisis and caused a significant wave of migration.
The university professor and opposition activist, Francisco Rodríguez, published the aforementioned report in his network X account, which highlights that the US Congress also recognizes that “they failed to evict Maduro from power”.
The document states that “President Donald Trump imposed additional financial sanctions on Venezuela in August 2017, by prohibiting access to financial markets by the Bolivarian Government, including the state energy company Petrleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA).”
In addition, the report of the US Congress specified that since 2005, Washington has imposed sanctions on Venezuelan individuals and entities.
