USA: Prosecutor achieves new indictment against Donald Trump

This Tuesday, the special prosecutor of the United States (USA), Jack Smith, filed a new substitute accusation against former President Donald Trump, in relation to the case of electoral subversion against him.

Trump was once again indicted for attempts to use the Department of Justice to promote his false claims of voter fraud.

A federal grand jury returned a replacement indictment, charging Trump with the same four charges he faced in the original indictment, in August 2023.

In this second accusation, he assured that Trump is involved in a conspiracy with several gangs to block the certification of his electoral defeat to Democratic President Joe Biden.

In this regard, the tycoon described the new accusation as ridiculous. On his social network, Truth Social, he considered that the “deranged” Jack Smith has filed this “ridiculous” accusation against him “in an effort to revive a 'dead' witch hunt in Washington DC, in an act of desperation and to save face”.
