The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, held a meeting this Thursday with the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, to analyze in depth the current geopolitical situation in the region and the threats of the United States (USA) against peace.

During the meeting, which is part of a tour by the Venezuelan Foreign Minister to some Caribbean countries, both authorities highlighted the violation of our status of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, proclaimed by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in 2014, “as well as the 1967 Treaty of Tlatelolco, which establishes our region as Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone”.

“In addition, we reviewed the bilateral agenda and the progress made in regional initiatives, such as the Agro-Alba project, which seeks to strengthen agricultural cooperation between our countries,” Gil said on his Telegram channel.

This Wednesday, President Nicolás Maduro denounced that the country is being threatened by a U.S. nuclear submarine and, faced with this scenario, reiterated that the Bolivarian Government is a guarantee of peace in its foreign policy.
