Representatives of the governments of Venezuela and Brazil held a high-level strategic meeting to boost bilateral trade.
According to a press release from the ministerial portfolio, the meeting was led by the Minister of Foreign Trade, Johann Álvarez Márquez; Glivânia Maria de Oliveira, Ambassador of Brazil to Venezuela and Alex Giacomelli, Ambassador and Secretary of Trade Promotion, Science, Technology, Innovation and Culture of Brazil.
The day served to lay the foundations for the modernization of customs regulatory instruments, agreeing on a next virtual technical table to consolidate the institutional positions of both teams.
During the working sessions, the automotive and transport sectors were identified as key axes of complementarity, evaluating mechanisms to expedite the entry of cargo, work and private vehicles into the Venezuelan market.
The delegations also agreed to diversify the trade balance through a robust promotion agenda, including trade fairs and the development of joint value chains with Colombia to supply domestic and regional markets.
In terms of attracting capital, Venezuela presented the tariff and logistical advantages offered by export-oriented Special Economic Zones (SEZs), formally inviting Brazil's technological and industrial sectors to make technical visits to these areas of development.
