Venezuela and Brazil strengthen ties of cooperation in cultural matters

Cazal reaffirmed the common ties that exist between Venezuela and Brazil, especially in terms of diversity

The Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Raúl Cazal, held a meeting with the Deputy Minister for Trade Promotion, Science, Technology and Culture of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Laudemar Gonçalves de Aguiar Neto, and the Brazilian ambassador to Venezuela, Glivânia Maria de Oliveira, to deepen the ties of cooperation in cultural matters between the two nations.

During the meeting, Cazal highlighted the importance of promoting cultural and regional diversity through exchanges between artists and exhibition spaces such as salons and biennials, as well as the participation of Brazilian creators in international events planned in Venezuela.

“We are working on a positive exchange that includes our artists, who have had the opportunity to participate in salons and biennials. This is something that we must continue to strengthen,” he said.

‎‎Igualmente, Cazal reaffirmed the common ties that exist between Venezuela and Brazil, especially in terms of diversity; he shared anecdotes about their cultural connection and highlighted the sense of belonging that the peoples of both nations have.‎

For his part, Gonçalves de Aguiar Neto emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation in areas such as trade, innovation and culture, noting that there are ample opportunities to develop joint projects that benefit both nations.

“We are focusing on the commercial side and on innovation. Culture is what makes us more human and closer. There are concrete objectives that we can pursue together and I am convinced that there are many opportunities to explore,” he said.

He also stressed that “there are issues of great relevance both for Brazil and for Venezuela. We are active at the international level, not only in UNESCO but in various platforms that promote cultural dialogue.”

‎‎Con this meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to crystallize strategies that promote binational cultural policies.
