The Minister of Foreign Trade, Coromoto Godoy Calderón, and the holder of Colombia's Commerce, Industry and Tourism portfolio, Diana Morales, formally installed the Administrative Commission of Partial Scope Agreement No. 28, in order to regulate the exchange of goods and services between the two nations to consolidate a binational relationship based on complementarity.

Godoy Calderón highlighted that both nations managed to materialize the road map drawn by the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, after the high-level meeting held last March 13 at the Miraflores Palace.

Colombia and Venezuela are determined to move forward. These high-level meetings are a mutual reaffirmation between our peoples to promote a constructive agenda that elevates all the great potentialities of the complementarity of both countries,” said Godoy.

He also assured that Venezuela continues to bet on peace diplomacy, which means that 'economic prosperity is tangible for our peoples, 'according to a press release published by Úlmas Noticias.

Godoy Calderón pointed out that the Commission's objective goes beyond documentary review to focus on the reactivation of productive machinery on the liveliest border in Latin America.

The senior official added that with this strategic alliance, the Bolivarian Government reaffirms its commitment to turning exchange with Colombia into an example of joint growth for the entire Caribbean and South America.

Minister Godoy and Deputy Minister Andreina Tarazón received Colombia's chief negotiator, Sofía Cañón, and Ambassador Milton Rengifo in Caracas.

During the workday, the technical teams discussed strategies to transform border trade into a model of shared benefit that increases the region's productive potential.

In her online speech, Colombian minister Diana Morales asserted that this space constitutes an epicenter of dialogue to govern trade relations under a clear framework of prosperity.

“It is an honor to install this Commission that can govern our relations, so that our productive apparatuses have a clear framework of economic prosperity. The idea is to understand each other with complementary economies, creating a binational productive block,” he concluded.
