Venezuela and Cuba evaluate bilateral cooperation in the field of health

The Minister of Popular Power for Health, Magaly Gutiérrez, held a meeting with the Cuban ambassador to Venezuela, Dagoberto Rodríguez, with the objective of consolidating bilateral cooperation in the field of health.
At the meeting, both authorities evaluated the significant advances that peoples have made in this area. In addition, they also reaffirmed the historic ties of solidarity and collaboration between the two nations.
Venezuela and Cuba maintain a long-standing strategic alliance in health, consolidated since 2000 through a comprehensive agreement to provide free and quality medical care to the Venezuelan people, as well as the training of professionals to strengthen the National Public Health System (SPNS).
Until the end of 2024, a total of 255,300 Cuban collaborators had provided their services in Venezuela, in programs as significant as Barrio Adentro and Operación Milagro, according to a press release from the ministerial portfolio.
