In order to consolidate a strategic alliance, the Minister of People's Power for Sports, Franklin Cardillo, received in his office the Indian ambassador to Venezuela, Ashok Babu, with the aim of advancing the planning of the International Day of Yoga, which will be celebrated on June 26.

During the meeting, the authorities discussed joint actions that will strengthen cultural and sporting exchange between Venezuela and India.

Minister Cardillo stressed the importance of this international cooperation and assured that the objective is to bring yoga to every corner of the country.

“The mission is to popularize yoga in each of the country's states, to cover much more than what the Indian embassy in Venezuela has achieved,” said Cardillo, a press release from the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports.

Ambassador Ashok Babur confirmed the commitment of the Asian country to share its knowledge and experiences to promote the massification of yoga in Venezuela.

He also announced the intention to select Venezuelan candidates for yoga teachers to receive specialized training in India.

This initiative seeks to enable these instructors to “multiply their knowledge and expand the practice of yoga” in Venezuelan communities.

The celebration of the International Day of Yoga has included a series of preliminary activities carried out in different regions of the country since the month of April.

As part of the program, the sixth anteroom will be held this Thursday, May 28, at the Simón Bolívar University, coastal headquarters, in La Guaira.

With these conversations, Venezuela and India continue to strengthen their relations of cooperation and brotherhood to promote the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of the population through yoga.
