Venezuela and Iran reaffirm their strategic alliance and joint struggle in defense of sovereignty, development and multipolarity, the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, said.

In his account on the social network Telegram, Gil stated that “we have held a meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Venezuela, Ali Chegini, with the objective of reaffirming our strategic alliance, as well as our friendship and joint struggle in defense of sovereignty, development and multipolarity.”

He specified that during the meeting, “we received a message of solidarity from the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of threats to the peace and security of Venezuela and of the entire Caribbean and Latin American region.”

“In this regard, we have expressed our mutual trust that our bilateral cooperation and in multilateral forums will continue to be strengthened in line with peace diplomacy,” Gil emphasized.
