In order to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and the Republic of Iraq, a wreath was presented this Tuesday before the sarcophagus that holds the mortal remains of the Liberator, Simon Bolivar.

The activity, which began with the musical notes of the anthems of both nations, was led by the Deputy Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Tatiana Pugh and the chargé d'affaires of Iraq, Khalid Kareem Zangana , who after the delivery of the offering signed the book of minutes.

The offering, which marks three quarters of a century of friendship and collaboration, also included the participation of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country.

Caracas and Baghdad share the vision of self-determination of peoples, as well as membership in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), of which both are founders.
