Venezuela and Russia explore new opportunities for cooperation

In order to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Russia, the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil Pinto, met this Tuesday with the accredited Russian ambassador to Venezuela, Sergey Mélik-Bagdasárov.
On his Telegram channel, the Chancellor explained that, during the meeting, they reviewed strategic alliances and explored “new opportunities to establish agreements in the areas of energy, economic and social sovereignty”.
On March 14, Caracas and Moscow celebrated the 80th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations and in a videoconference, Presidents Nicolás Maduro and Vladimir Putin reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the strategic cooperation alliance.
During this meeting, both leaders reiterated their commitment to elevating binational relations through a strategic partnership of cooperation, in areas such as politics, economics, transport, energy, industry, public health, technology and culture, among others.
In addition, within the framework of the fourth Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, in Türkiye, Minister Yván Gil held a meeting with his counterpart from the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, in which they reaffirmed “solid strategic alliances, especially in the defense against unilateral sanctions and in the promotion of a new multipolar order”.
