The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs,
Yván Gil, held a meeting in his office this Tuesday with the ambassador of the Russian Federation accredited to
the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Sergey
Mélik, to strengthen relations of cooperation and brotherhood between the two nations.
“We held a highly productive meeting with
the Russian Ambassador to Venezuela, Sergey Mélik, with the objective of strengthening
friendship and high-level alliance between our peoples in the context of the
move towards a new multipolar world,” said Foreign Minister Gil through his Telegram channel.
The Venezuelan diplomat explained that, during this
meeting, they also analyzed “the current siege facing our
Latin American and Caribbean region, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to the defense of our sovereignty and regional peace.”
In this context, Russia has expressed its absolute solidarity
with Venezuela in the face of threats of military attack by the United States
against the Bolivarian nation, with the deployment of warships and a nuclear
