Venezuela and the United States agree to restore air connectivity

The Minister of People's Power for Transportation, Jacqueline Fanía, held a strategic meeting with the Undersecretary of the United States Department of Transportation for Political Affairs, Ryan McCormack at Maiquetía “Simón Bolívar” International Airport, in La Guaira.
McCormack arrived on Thursday on the first American Airlines flight in seven years, which marked the formal resumption of the Miami-Caracas connection. with a daily flight using Embraer 175 aircraft, operated by its subsidiary Envoy. In addition, more frequencies and possible connections to Maracaibo are expected.
Binational authorities addressed a road map focused on economic reactivation and the strengthening of transport infrastructure in all its forms.
The dialogue focused on three nerve points for the normalization of commercial and technical relations:
Restoration of air connectivity: Protocols for the operational return of both U.S. and Venezuelan airlines to destinations in the United States were discussed.
Technical and technological strengthening: The delegations discussed the mechanisms for the purchase of spare parts for air, land and water transport, as well as plans for equipment training and technology transfer.
Commercial exchange: The opening of new logistics routes that allow the export of Venezuelan products to the U.S. market was explored.
He highlighted the vision of the Bolivarian Government to consolidate Venezuela as a country of peace and prosperity. “We remain firm in our goal of making the Venezuelan people prosperous and thriving,” he concluded.
