The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expressed its rejection of the interventionist statements of the president of Paraguay, Santiago Peña, when questioning the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) the ratification of the electoral results that accredit Nicolás Maduro as the winner of those presidential elections of 28J.
“It is a terrible and disastrous mistake to give up having an independent foreign policy and, on the contrary, to give in to pressure from the United States,” Foreign Minister Yván Gil posted on his Telegram account.
In this message, he reminded President Santiago Peña that in Venezuela there is a formidable State of Law and Justice, and that “our will as a people is backed by a robust democratic institutionality.”
“Sovereignty resides in our people, as stated in our constitution, not in the interests and desires of the elites in Washington; do not allow President Peña to be manipulated, because history and the Peoples remember well those who decide to be instruments of a puppeteer. WE DEMAND respect for our sacred popular sovereignty that elected Nicolás Maduro Moros as President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
