Venezuela strongly condemns the military aggression of the United States against nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran and demands an immediate cessation of hostilities.
In a statement released by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, Venezuela maintains that this is an illegal, unjustifiable and extremely dangerous act of aggression.
Below is the full text of the statement:
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela firmly and categorically condemns the bombing carried out by the United States Army, at the request of the State of Israel, against nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the Fordow , Natanz and Alsfahan complexes.
This attack constitutes an illegal, unjustifiable and extremely dangerous act of aggression, which flagrantly violates the Charter of the United Nations, international law and the elementary principles of respect for the sovereignty of States.
Bombing nuclear facilities, with all the risks that this implies for human life and the environmental balance of the region, is an irresponsible escalation that can have incalculable consequences for global stability. It is a direct threat to international peace.
We reaffirm our solidarity with the Iranian people and our commitment to peace, sovereignty and the defense of international law as the only path to coexistence among nations.
