Venezuela develops kit for the diagnosis of dengue fever

In our country, a diagnostic kit is being developed to detect specific antibodies against dengue in vitro, said the Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez.

Through a message posted on his Telegram channel, Jiménez explained that “the kit offers a simplified, accessible and efficient procedure” and has been designed to be used in primary care laboratories for National Public Health.

“This project, funded by the National Government through the Ministry for Science and Technology, reduces dependence on expensive imports, promotes self-sufficiency and empowers health professionals to act more effectively in the face of outbreaks of dengue fever,” he said while recalling that the sanctions imposed by imperialism have affected our country.

In this regard, the minister stressed that these types of developments show the renewed focus on health and science, “Venezuela continues to take firm steps towards a healthier and more resilient future,” she said.
