The women's teams of Venezuela and Colombia sealed a goalless tie this Wednesday in the second round of Group B of the Copa América, which is being played in Ecuador.
After the result, both managed to score their first and only point, and lost ground in Group B, which Brazil leads with 6, followed by Paraguay with 3 and Bolivia with 2.
The match was quite close, with alternating dominance of the ball and with goal options in each goal, but without precision when it came to defining.
Colombia pushed to control the party and put pressure on the Venezuelan women, although it lacked the necessary order to specify.
For its part, Vinotinto Femenina was able to open the scoring with a shot by Daniuska Rodríguez from outside the box, but the ball crashed on the crossbar. It was the closest chance to the goal in the first half.
In the second half, Venezuela made a great move from the middle of the court, and Michelle Romero shot the goal on the right side, but goalkeeper Luz Tapia deflected the trajectory in the 52nd minute.
Those led by Brazilian Ricardo Belli are coming off a somewhat weak debut after falling 0-2 against Brazil.
In the third round of the tournament, Brazil will rest, Venezuela will face the bottom team Bolivia on Saturday and Colombia will face Paraguay.
