Venezuela exports 31 species of the sea to 24 countries of the world

This Saturday, May 18, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reported that Venezuela currently exports 31 species from the sea to 24 countries of the world.
In this regard, during the working day called “The Productive Economy of Blue Venezuela” in Nueva Esparta, he specified that among the species that are exported are: shrimp, octopus, tajalí, crab, curvina, among others.
He reaffirmed the importance of producing to strengthen the domestic market, meet the demands of the people and also build the export vocation that generates foreign exchange and allows the growth of the nation. In turn, he specified that Venezuela went from relying on 85% of imports to producing, last year, 97% of the food consumed in the country.
As for Venezuelan aquaculture production, the National President indicated that it is exported to countries such as Croatia, Spain, Greece and Türkiye, nations that have a high demand for Venezuelan marine products.
For his part, the Minister of Popular Power for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, reported that, just as the aquaculture sector grew by 55% in the first four months of the year, the production of canned sardines rose to 70%.
At the same time, he highlighted the efforts of Commander Hugo Chávez to promote the potential of the natural resources of Blue Venezuela and President Maduro's protection and support for the fishing and aquaculture sector.
