This Monday, May 11, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela issued a statement expressing its firm protest at the statements, relating to the Venezuelan State, of the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), António Guterres.

The statement was published by the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, on his account of the social network Telegram.

In the above-mentioned letter, the Bolivarian Government considers Guterres's statements, “they contain statements that are inappropriate to his high office and contrary to the principles of objectivity, prudence, impartiality and good faith established in the Charter of the United Nations”.

It emphasizes that the “statements reflect the progressive deterioration of a General Secretariat unable to contribute effectively to peace and to the resolution of the major conflicts that today shake humanity”.
