Venezuela greets the People and Government of Brazil for the 204th anniversary of its Independence

In a statement released by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Félix Plasencia, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela greeted the Federative Republic of Brazil on Monday for the 204th anniversary of its Independence.

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, extends affectionate greetings to the Federative Republic of Brazil, on the occasion of the celebration of the 204th anniversary of its Independence, and extends her sincerest congratulations to the brotherly Brazilian people and their Government.

On this date of profound historical significance, Venezuela accompanies Brazil in the commemoration of the “Grito de Ipiranga” of 1822, affirmation of its national sovereignty and the beginning of its independence process, an event of transcendental importance in the history of the Americas and in the emancipatory efforts of our peoples.

The People and Government of Venezuela confirm their firm will to continue to deepen the historic bonds of friendship, cooperation, solidarity and understanding that unite our nations, based on the shared conviction of building a relationship of good neighbourliness, characterized by mutual respect, beneficial exchange and the promotion of integral development and the well-being of our peoples.
