The sectoral vice-president of Communication and Culture, Freddy Ñáñez, presented the Andrés Bello Order in his first class to the six Palestinian poets who attended the 19th edition of the World Poetry Festival 2025, who raised their voices against the genocide of their people by Israel.
This was announced through his Telegram channel, in which he shared images of the event. “This recognition represents the twinning of the struggle for peace, justice and dignity of the peoples of the world,” he said.
“In many countries of the world, a strong movement of protest and rejection of genocide is rising, as well as support for the right of Palestinian citizens to have a homeland and peace,” he said, reaffirming the support of Venezuela and its people for the Palestinian cause.
During the activity, Ñáñez also highlighted that for Venezuela it is an honor to present this recognition that bears the name of a man “independence, intellectual, spiritual and idiomatic of our history (...) this hero of the country was the one who proposed a rupture with the empire through the creation of a new grammar for Americans”.
“This award is much more than symbolic; it is a way of twinning the struggle of the Palestinian people with the struggle of the Venezuelan people (...) wherever there is poetry, wherever there is singing, wherever there is word, the struggle, justice and dignity always persevere,” he said, a Venezuelan television review.
