For the Deputy Minister, the event, held between July 26 and 28, represented a significant advance in the field of AI and an essential preparation for a new era in this technology.

“This is a very important milestone in what is being done in the city of Shanghai. Why? Because we must prepare for what will be the new era of artificial intelligence,” stressed Hernández, who was one of the members of the Venezuelan delegation for this important event.

According to a press release, Hernández emphasized that the debates addressed fundamental issues such as policies for global governance, strategies to ensure inclusive access to artificial intelligence and the centrality of human values in this development.

“Where we contemplate everything that is the ethics of AI, the transfer of technology, the participation of the academy, and above all the specialized training of our human talent,” he said.

During its participation in Shanghai, the Venezuelan delegation was active in various forums, where comprehensive views on the latest technological trends, advances in the sector and best practices of global governance were discussed.

Among the main lessons learned by the Deputy Minister are initiatives related to advanced language models, the impact of AI on industries and the crucial role of women in technological development and research.
