The Minister of People's
Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, accompanied the
ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Bolivarian
Republic of Venezuela, Vu Trung My, at the wreath ceremony to the Liberator
Simon Bolivar, before his sarcophagus in the National Pantheon of Caracas , on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Revolution
August (August 19, 1945) and
National Day (September 2, 1945) of this Southeast Asian nation.
During the
solemn ceremony, wrapped between the glorious notes of Gloria al Bravo Pueblo and Tiến
Quân Ca (March to the Front), the authorities evoked the libertarian ideals
of Simon Bolivar and Ho Chi Minh to ratify the bonds of friendship and solidarity that were officially forged on December 18, 1989.
Earlier, in
a statement released by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, the Bolivarian Government
assured that the “Vietnamese Revolution, a universal example of dignity,
resistance and triumph in the face of colonialism and imperialism, is
deeply associated with the ideology of the Bolivarian Revolution, which also raises the flags of sovereignty, self-determination,
social justice and solidarity among
villages”.
“Both
processes recognize the spirit of struggle that challenges all forms of domination,
while promoting peace, integration and the well-being of the majority.
On this memorable date, Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to continue
strengthening ties of friendship, cooperation and strategic brotherhood with
Vietnam, convinced that the unity of free peoples is the path to
a more just and balanced world order,” the document reads.
Since Commander Hugo Chávez
's visit to Vietnam in 2006, undisputed political empathy
and multisectoral cooperation have been consolidated at the highest level, as part of the geostrategic vision marked by the construction
of a multicentric and multipolar world.
This vision is continued by President Nicolás
Maduro Moros.
On September 2, 1945, the revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh declared
independence and allowed Vietnam to become the first Asian nation to
become independent after World War II.
