Venezuela participated in preparatory meetings for the XIX MNOAL Summit in Uganda

A delegation from Venezuela was present at the beginning of the preparatory meetings for the XIX Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries (MNOAL), which is taking place in Kampala, Republic of Uganda, the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs (MPPRE) reported in a press release published on the website.

Points out that, on behalf of the Bolivarian Government, the delegation is composed of the Deputy Ministers for Multilateral Issues and for Africa of the MPPRE, Rubén Darío Molina and Yuri Pimentel, respectively, who are present at the Speke Convention Center, in southern Kampala,

The event began with the preparatory conferences for the meeting of heads of State and Government and a call for unity and greater cooperation between the countries that comprise it.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uganda, Jeje Odongo, in his opening speech, noted that multilateralism and solidarity are needed more than ever to collectively respond to the challenges of the future.

The expert meetings precede the ministerial meetings scheduled for next Wednesday and Thursday.

The summit of heads of state and government will begin this Friday the 19th and will close on Saturday the 20th.

The MNOAL is made up of 120 countries: 53 from Africa, 39 from Asia, 26 from Latin America and the Caribbean and two from Europe. Also, 17 nations have observer status.

At this last meeting, Uganda assumed the Pro Tempore Presidency of the Movement, held by Azerbaijan, until 2026.
