The representation of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Commonwealth of Dominica participated in the Flavors of the World Festival 2024, one of the most prestigious events in the Caribbean nation, which integrates the cultural diversity that makes life in the country, providing the opportunity for each invited nation to show off its cultural and traditional values.

This year, Flavors of the World allowed us to enjoy the dance, music and cuisine of countries such as Cameroon, Cuba, China, Dominica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Lebanon, Syria, India, Nigeria and Venezuela.

The Flavors of The World Dominica Festival 2024 was held on the grounds of the Windsor Park sports stadium and its noble purpose was to raise funds for the rehabilitation of Roseau Cathedral, the oldest monument in the capital city, a historical and tourist heritage.

The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela demonstrated the rich gastronomic culture of our country, through the preparation and presentation of dishes that are part of the culinary traditions of various corners of our geography, such as arepas, the famous chucho cake, the quesillo, the tres leches cake, Christmas rolls, rice with chicken and mondongo.

In addition, the Venezuelan Institute for Culture and Cooperation (IVCC), made itself felt very special at the Festival, thanks to the musical and artistic exhibition prepared by the Student of the Venezuelan Embassy in Dominica, which has a Group of Four and one of Traditional Dances, which have transmitted in recent decades, to several generations of local citizens, their passion for Venezuelan music and dance.

The present people enjoyed a wide musical repertoire and traditional Venezuelan dances. Songs such as “El Becerrito”, by Simón Díaz; Brisas del Zulia, by Amable Espina; Barlovento, by Eduardo Serrano; Moliendo Café, by José Manzo, as well as Fly me to the moon, by Bart Howard; Dominica Isle of Nature, by Jean Lawrence Mathurin; and Antigua, by Ronald Prince, were part of the repertoire offered by the Group of Four of the Venezuelan Embassy; while young people from Dominica, students of Venezuelan dance, introduced the dance of the Barloventeño drums and the Joropo Llanero, causing excitement among national and international audiences present at the event.
