As part of Venezuela's participation in the Bogotá International Book Fair (FILBO 2024), the poet, journalist and director of the magazine Correo del Alba, Kris González, shared her new collection of poems I Say Goodbye to These Abysses, with editions of Trinchera and Pinves.

According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, the Venezuelan woman highlighted that her work “talks about the abysses, thoughts, truths, news, goodbyes from physical or imaginary places and decisions that a human being has to face at different times in his life.”

In addition, he specified that he wrote the collection of poems after the death of his sister, since at that time he could not understand how his heart could hurt so much. “This is in memory of her, but I also say goodbye to processes, decisions that you experience, that you make, and that are positive or negative, right or not, you have to go on with life as it has been proposed to you,” he said.

I Say Goodbye to These Abysses is his fourth collection of poems. It is preceded by Espigario (2020), Albario (2021) and Altiplano (2022). “These four books of poetry are the most dear to me out of about eight that I have written, because they talk about this intimate, personal, but also terrible part of poetry when you express it in times as turbulent as the ones we live in these days,” he said.
