This Thursday, December 11, the decision of the United States government was received to suspend, unilaterally, the return of Venezuelan citizens who were scheduled to return on December 12, the Ministry of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, reported on its account on the social network Instagram.

It highlights that the measure contradicts the official discourse of that country regarding the situation of migrants in its territory and generates uncertainty among Venezuelan families who were waiting for the reunion.

The suspension interrupts a process that had been carried out in a coordinated manner and that represented a way to alleviate the situation of compatriots detained and persecuted on U.S. soil.

It also points out that the expectation of a safe and dignified return is now frustrated by a decision that, in addition to being unexpected, is contradictory to the commitments previously assumed.

The publication highlights that it is hoped that the United States government will rectify sooner rather than later and restart the process of returning affected Venezuelans.

The Bolivarian Government reaffirms its willingness to welcome its citizens with open arms, guaranteeing accompaniment and support in their reintegration, and remains firmly committed to ensuring the protection of Venezuelans anywhere in the world.
