The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, confirmed that Venezuela has formally regained its representation before the International Monetary Fund (IMF), an organization of which the Venezuelan State has been a part since its founding in 1946.
“Venezuela regains its representation in this international organization of which it had been part since 1946,” said the president, stressing that this achievement represents a victory for Bolivarian diplomacy and a strategic advance for the national financial system.
In this regard, he stressed that the normalization of these relations was possible thanks to an effort of dialogue and international political will.
In addition, the president extended her thanks to all the member countries that supported this impulse, allowing Venezuela to resume the exercise of its technical and financial rights within the multilateral entity.
During his speech, he regretted the actions of opposition sectors that tried to block this measure.
“It is very regrettable that Venezuelan extremism took on the task of visiting European capitals to prevent the country from re-entering the IMF,” he denounced.
However, he emphasized that wisdom and international law prevailed over agendas of economic suffocation.
“The good was imposed and the resumption of what should never have been prevented,” said the president, assuring that this new phase with the IMF will open doors for the integral development of the Venezuelan people.
