Venezuela rises five places in the FIBA Women's World Ranking

Venezuela rose five positions and ranked 44th with 153 points, and 10th in America, in the Women's World Ranking of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), which presented an update after the qualifiers for the AmeriCup 2027 and the World Cup 2026.

The team led by Luz Vargas won the runner-up in the South American Qualifier for the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2027.

Venezuela will return to the FIBA Women's AmeriCup competitions, which will be held in El Salvador from July 3 to 11, 2027, where it will be on the table with the representatives of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the United States and the host squad.
