The Venezuelan delegation, made up of the groups Francisco Pacheco y su Pueblo and Family Ground, captivated with their participation in the 15th edition of the Caribbean Arts Festival (CARIFESTA) 2025, where they showed the richness of the traditional music of the Bolivarian nation.
This was announced by the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, through his account on the social network Instagram. “While an infamous shark lurks with its jaws in the Caribbean, Venezuela shines with its cultural diversity at CARIFESTA 2025,” he said.
He also highlighted the capacity of Venezuelan culture to impose itself in the face of threats and interference. A team from the National Institute of Nutrition (INN) also participates in this festival, which has offered gastronomic samples to publicize the country's food policy, known as 4S (healthy, tasty, safe and sovereign) and to delight the palates of the attendees with Venezuelan flavors.
CARIFESTA, organized by the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), seeks to strengthen unity through diversity. The meeting, hailed as an “inspiring exchange of creative flows”, has its origins in the first Caribbean Arts Festival, held in 1952 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which aroused enthusiasm to celebrate the excellence of Caribbean art throughout the region.
