Venezuela stands in solidarity with President Gustavo Petro in the face of an assassination attempt against him

This Thursday, August 08, the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, reported that Venezuela stands in solidarity with the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro in the face of an assassination attempt against him.

Through his account on the social network X, Gil said that “in the name of President @ NicolasMaduro, we stand in solidarity with President @ Petrogustavo and the Government of Colombia, after learning of an assassination attempt against him.”

He stressed that the assassination attempt “sought to undermine the Colombian State and create a situation of instability in the region.”

“We are sure that peace will triumph in the brother country and the nefarious plans against peace will fail,” he emphasized.
