Venezuela strengthens cooperation relations with Burkina Faso (+UN)

This Tuesday, the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, reported during the beginning of the high-level week of the 80th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) that he held a meeting with his counterpart from Burkina Faso, in order to expand relations with the West African nation.
“We had the pleasure of meeting with Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso, to review the wide range of cooperation between our peoples,” Foreign Minister Gil wrote on his Telegram account along with images of the meeting.
Gil highlighted that he addressed issues in areas such as science and technology. “During this meeting, we also reaffirm our mutual support for the sovereign causes of our countries, which today position themselves as leaders in self-determination and in the promotion of South-South cooperation.”
In the month of May, in the context of the celebrations in Moscow for the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union over fascism in the Second World War, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held a significant meeting with his counterpart from Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traoré.
At that time, projecting relations based on respect for international law and non-intervention in internal affairs, which, President Maduro, places Burkina Faso as a key partner in the fight against unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States.
