Venezuela continues to strengthen its presence in the international market with the shipment this Thursday, September 11, of 100 tons of cocoa beans to the Russian Federation, for a total of 300 tons exported in just two months, since the signing of the bilateral trade agreement, as a new step towards the consolidation of the Economic Recovery Plan.
The president of the Venezuelan Socialist Cocoa Corporation, an entity attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Keila Martorelli, stressed that the shipment, destined for Moscow, is part of the PAE (Produce, Supply and Export) strategy established by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reviewed the ministerial body on her website.
“This new shipment consolidates the country's commitment to economic diversification and the promotion of high-quality agricultural products,” he said.
The shipment was carried out in collaboration with the Russian company New Cocoa Production, as a result of a bilateral agreement that seeks to promote commercial exchange between the two nations.
In addition, it was announced that new shipments are expected as part of a sustained business expansion strategy.
The alliance with Russia is in addition to a series of agreements that have been established with allied countries, seeking to revitalize the economy through non-oil productive sectors. Cocoa, together with coffee and other agricultural items, has been identified as a key axis for export diversification.
This breakthrough represents not only a commercial victory, but also a recognition of the efforts of Venezuelan producers, who have maintained the quality and tradition of one of the country's most emblematic products.
