President Nicolás Maduro and the people of Venezuela thank the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, for his support and strong condemnation of the assault of a Venezuelan oil tanker in the Caribbean Sea by the United States.
“On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro and our people, I would like to express our sincerest gratitude for their solid support and strong condemnation of the recent assault perpetrated by the United States Armed Forces against an oil tanker in the Caribbean Sea,” said the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, through a post on his Telegram channel.
Gil emphasized that this act of piracy not only constitutes a flagrant violation of international law, but also represents an unacceptable aggression against Venezuela's national sovereignty, the right to free trade and freedom of navigation.
He also pointed out that this attack poses a threat to all the peoples of our region, putting “at risk the peace and stability” that we value so much”.
The Cuban president, through a post on his social networks, indicated: "Cuba expresses its full support for the Venezuelan government's statement of complaint and strongly condemns the assault of an oil tanker in the Caribbean Sea, perpetrated by the United States Armed Forces. This constitutes an act of piracy, a violation of international law and an escalation of aggression against that brother or country.”
