The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela thanked the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, for his solidarity in the face of the assault of the fishing vessel Carmen Rosa, by a destroyer ship from the United States (USA), while carrying out authorized operations in the country's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

Through his Telegram channel, Foreign Minister Yván Gil expressed his gratitude, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, to the Cuban president “for his energetic rejection of the recent escalation of war in the United States.”

Gil recalled that the U.S. action “included an unacceptable act of intimidation against nine Venezuelan fishermen in waters under our jurisdiction.”

On his social networks, Diaz-Canel highlighted that the illegal act of the United States is “contrary to international law, and a cowardly and dangerous provocation. Latin America and the Caribbean is # ZonaDePaz,” he emphasized.
