Venezuelan Anyelin Venegas wins the Pan American Weightlifting Championship

Venezuelan athlete Anyelin Venegas won first place this Monday in the Pan American Weightlifting Championship, Pre-Olympic 2024, held in Miranda state.

The Venezuelan woman rose in the 59-kilogram category ahead of her compatriot Génesis Rodríguez and the Mexican Janeth Gómez, who took third place.

Venegas managed to lift 100 kilograms at the start and 126 kilograms at the start, for a total of 226 kg. With this victory, the young athlete is placed in the ranking of the best 10 weightlifters in her category, shortening her path to the Paris Olympic Games.
