In the World Indoor Championship 2026, held in the city of Torun, in north-central Poland, the queen of triple jumping, the Venezuelan athlete Yulimar Rojas, won the silver medal with 14.86 meters this Saturday, March 21 (her best jump was the fourth and she made three failures).

Rojas recorded 14.54 meters in his second jump valid in the triple jump final, initially placing himself in third position.

Cuba's Leyanis Pérez won the gold medal for women's triple jump with a record of 14.95 meters, during the World Indoor Athletics Championships.

Pérez hit the track and scored 14.54 in his first attempt and 14.98 in the second, a mark that ultimately secured him the top of the podium. He had two jumps that ranked among the best in the entire competition.

Yulimar Rojas, after recovering from a severe injury that kept her away from high competition for many months, was looking for her fourth indoor crown.

Rojas holds the world record with a record of 15.74 m. He was gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. She is a quadruple world champion in the 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2023 events, as well as a three-time consecutive indoor world champion in 2016, 2018 and 2022.

For his part, the coach, Iván Pedroso, described his performance as a triumphant return to the elite, focusing on physical and technical recovery to seek the world crown in Poland.
