The trial court acting to control the Metropolitan Area of Caracas granted the measures of deprivation of liberty against the President of Argentina, Javier Milei; the Secretary General of the Presidency of Argentina, Karina Milei, and the Minister of National Security of that country, Patricia Bullricch, the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) said in a statement.

The above-mentioned order was issued because of the criminal case that is being followed in the country against Argentine officials for their alleged participation in the crimes of aggravated theft, money laundering, simulation of a punishable act, illegitimate deprivation of liberty, unlawful interference in the operational safety of civil aviation, incapacitation of aircraft and association.

According to the said statement, the court's decision was made on the basis of a request made by the Public Ministry (MP) on September 18.

It is important to remember that last few days the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, announced the appointment of two prosecutors to process the above-mentioned arrest warrant, for the connection between Milei and the theft of the EMTRASUR plane and for crimes against humanity in accordance with the universal jurisdiction contemplated in international law.
