A Venezuelan delegation of deputies of the National Assembly participates in the Fifth Conference of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement in Istanbul, where in her speech, the second vice-president of the National Assembly, Grecia Colmenares, denounced the darkness that tried to cover Venezuela on January 3, 2026 when the Constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and the First Lady and Deputy Cilia Flores were kidnapped in a foreign military act that caused the death of 120 people.

“This act was a direct attack on the dignity of the entire Republic and violates the right to immunity of a head of state of a sovereign nation as enshrined in international law and in the international agreements that govern the matter,” he added.

He also said that despite this aggression, the Venezuelan State remains standing under the firm leadership of the President in Charge, Delcy Rodríguez, and protected by the sacred civic-military-police union, “we have preserved the peace and continuity of our institutions. Venezuela is a beacon of stability in the midst of the storm, because our power emanates from the unwavering will of a people who choose peace as the highest value of the Venezuelan nation,” he said.
