Venezuelan Emma Rodríguez was crowned at the Paratriathlon World Cup in Lisbon

Last Saturday, the Venezuelan Emma Rodríguez won her first international champion title, after dominating the Paratriathlon World Cup in the PTS2 classification, held in the Portuguese town, Alhandra, Lisbon.

The joust took place under demanding conditions with a water temperature of 25° Celsius, and the course comprised an initial stretch of 750 meters of swimming, 19.1 kilometers distributed over a three-lap circuit and a race closure that extended to 5 kilometers.

Rodríguez led the race, leaving partials of 14 minutes 44 seconds in swimming, 44:01 on the bike, 24:12 in the race stretch and 4:5 in total transitions for an overall time of 1:27.05, 11 minutes 33 seconds ahead of France's Mona Francis who came second in the race with 1:38:38.

For the Paralympic triathlonist in Paris 2024, it was her fifth foray into World Cup editions, in which she had only reached second place, according to the press release of the Ministry of People's Power for Sport.

In his previous tests, he won the first silver medal in Long Beach 2023 and added another one in Taranto 2024, the year in which he also added two bronze metals to his record in Vigo and Besancon.

This result confirms its position among the universal elite of adapted sports, while consolidating its pace with a view to the upcoming 2028 Paralympic Games.
