The two weeks of prioritized apostille attention at the Consulate General of Venezuela in Madrid, promoted by the Office of Consular Relations (ORC) of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, were successfully completed, with more than 4,000 appointments attended and 6,253 documents apostilled, benefiting the Venezuelan community living in the Spanish capital and in the surrounding Autonomous Communities.
On the day, which took place between September 1 and 12, most of the processed apostilles were Birth Certificates (certificates), accounting for 51.87% of the requests made.
Another noteworthy fact was the high rate of documentation susceptible to being apostilled whose ownership belonged to Girls, Boys and Adolescents (NNA). Of all the documents processed, 28.9% -almost a third of them- belonged to this age group, exempt from paying consular fees, thus ratifying the absolute priority and best interests of the NNA, as established in the Venezuelan legal framework.
The development of this day of prioritized care was possible thanks to the reinforcement of the human team of the Consulate General of Venezuela, which was joined by diplomatic and local staff from the Venezuelan Embassy, as well as officials from the ORC of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, who came to Madrid from the headquarters in Caracas.
The Venezuelan ambassador to Spain, Gladys Gutiérrez Alvarado, and the consul general in Madrid, Nancy Lira Ochoa, supervised the smooth running of the conference, which met the extraordinary demand of users during the ten working days of the operation, which managed to speed up the processing of apostilles, reduce waiting times and bring consular care closer to the Venezuelan community.
