Venezuelan judo won five gold medals in the Central American national team in San Salvador

Venezuelan judo won five gold, six silver and two bronze medals during the single day of the Central American national team played on the tatami of the Palacio de los Deportes Carlos “El Famoso” Hernández, in San Salvador.

With their outstanding performance, the Criollos added valuable points to the ranking of the discipline with a view to the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo 2026.

Anriquelis Barrios won the gold medal in the 63-kilo category at the event, after beating Prisca Awiti, from Mexico, through the ippon.

The rest of the gold metals were won by Gabriela Miranda in the -48 kilos category, Jonheluis Patete in the -90's and Audreys Pacheco, who won the category in the -57 kilos.

In the +78 kilos category, the gold medal was defined as a round against all. Karen León went undefeated leading all five fights on the Ippon route against her Salvadoran rivals Genesis Paz, Marenko Izayana, Camila Rugamas and Daniela Enriquez.

The silver harvest was won by Venezuelans Samuel Corzo in -100 kilos, Luis Amezquita who marked his return to the podium with a second place in +100 kilograms, Andrés Pariche in -73, Willis García in -66 kilos, Zunilda Chávez in -78 kilos and Eliana Aguiar in -70.

While the bronze medals went to Leomaris Ruiz in -52 and Luis Pariche in -81.
