This Wednesday, the Venezuelan citizen, Arturo Suárez Trejo, after being kidnapped in the Center for the Confinement of Terrorism (CECOT) located in El Salvador, reported to the United Nations (UN) the human rights violations suffered by his detained compatriots.

“The treatment to which we were subjected constitute serious violations of human rights, therefore, we request official pronouncements from their offices condemning the illegal actions of the Salvadoran government, and demand the cessation of any measure that jeopardizes the freedom and human rights of migrants,” said the Venezuelan citizen.

He also emphasized the crimes of arbitrary detention, torture and forced disappearance to which migrants were subjected, in addition to pointing out that the authorities of the United States (USA) and El Salvador never reported on the crime committed, in addition to preventing the contact of detainees with lawyers or family members, in addition to the torture carried out by CECOT agents.

In this regard, he regretted that the UN office did not immediately demand the release of all Venezuelans imprisoned in the CECOT.

On the other hand, Suárez requested that the international organization pressure the United States so that that nation ceases the application of the Foreign Enemies Act against its compatriots living in U.S. territory.
