Venezuelan Paralympic athletes make headway in India 2025 World Cup

The Paralympic champion Enderson Santos was just a few hundredths away from reaching the podium in the 400 meters T11 of the 2025 World Parathletics Championship India, after a performance that placed him among the best in the event.
In the women's category, Linda Pérez, Yescarly Medina and Alejandra Pérez advanced in their respective disciplines with outstanding records. Linda Pérez, gold medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, qualified for the semifinal of the 100 meters T11 with a mark of 12.83. The final is scheduled for October 1 at 10:40 a.m., local time.
Alejandra Pérez led the first qualifying series of the 400 meters T12 with a time of 58.93 and ensures her participation in the final, scheduled for Wednesday at 9:13 a.m. Her performance places her among the region's leading contenders in this distance.
Yescarly Medina entered the decisive heat of the 100 meters T37 with the sixth best record (14.18) after overcoming the qualifying rounds. She will be the only South American representative in this instance, scheduled for the early morning of October 1st at 1:58 a.m.
The world competition has been taking place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, in New Delhi, since September 27 and will end on October 5. Venezuela maintains competitive participation in multiple events, which reaffirms its presence in the elite of international parathletics.
