Venezuelan refereeing will have a prominent presence in a new international arena after the appointment of an arbitration team composed entirely of Venezuelan women for the match between Argentina and Colombia, corresponding to the CONMEBOL Women's Nations League.

The team will be made up of Criollas Emikar Calderas as the main referee, accompanied by Migdalia Rodríguez and Thaity Dugarte as assistants. Ana Méndez will serve as the fourth referee, while Stefani Escobar will be in charge of the VAR and Elibith Higuera as video refereeing assistant, according to the press release of the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF).

The match is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at 7:00 PM (Venezuela time), at the Estadio Ciudad de Lanús, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for the seventh day of the CONMEBOL Women's Nations League.

This tournament brings together the South American teams in a free-for-all format that grants places for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027, which will be held in Brazil.

The appointment marks a significant event for national refereeing, as it has a team completely made up of Venezuelan women both on the field and in the VAR booth.
