The Caracas triathlete Nadine Zymam will represent Venezuela in the 2025 Ironman World Championship.
Zymam has been the best ranked athlete in Venezuela in this competition for two consecutive years in her category (women between 30 and 34 years of age).
“The moment I competed in my first Ironman, I fell in love with triathlon because it is a discipline that challenges both physically and mentally,” said Zyman, press release by the Ministry for Sports.
I also assure you that your children are your greatest engine. “After her births, she has had a lot of achievements,” said the Venezuelan.
In 2022, he finished first in his category in the Ironman 70.3 in North Carolina, with a time of 4 hours and 53 minutes, which gave him a place to participate in the Half Ironman World Championship in Finland the following year.
“Competing in my first World Cup was incredible. Just being there, competing with the best 2000 triathletes on the planet was a dream come true,” said the woman from Caracas.
2024 was the year that catapulted Zyman as the best triathlete in the country. In May, he competed in the Ironman 70.3 Muncie and returned to qualifying for the 70.3 world championship, to be held in Marbella, Spain in 2025.
In turn, in November he participated in the Full Ironman Gulf Coast in Florida and finished in third place out of 400 athletes who competed in his category, with a time of 10 hours and 31 minutes.
That result gave him a place to represent Venezuela in the 2025 Ironman World Championship (full distance) to be held in Kona, Hawaii.
This will be their first participation in the final of the 115-mile world championship, which is the most prestigious on the planet.
It is a tough test that consists of swimming of 3.8 km, cycling of 180 km and closing with a marathon (42.19 km).
